Vom ‚Dorf‘ zur Weltstadt: Die Bevölkerungsgeschichte Berlins von 1815-1939
Jürgen Dorbritz
This publication analyses the history of Berlin’s population between 1815 and 1939. During this period, not only the number of inhabitants but also the demographic structures have changed considerably on the basis of changes in fertility behavior, mortality, immigration and emigration. The aim is to explain these changes through the economic and social conditions in the city.
