In einer zunehmend globalisierten Welt spielt Mehrsprachigkeit eine immer bedeutendere Rolle. Weltweit verwendet über die Hälfte der Menschen täglich mehr als eine Sprache. Diese Mehrsprachigkeit, die sämtliche Kommunikationsbereiche prägen kann, bringt Chancen, aber zugleich eine Reihe von Fragen und Herausforderungen mit sich – insbesondere, wenn es um direkte sprachliche Interaktion und das Gelingen von Kommunikation geht.
Anhand von sich gegenseitig ergänzenden Perspektiven wird im vorliegenden, interdisziplinär angelegten Band die facettenreiche Thematik der Mehrsprachigkeit aus dem Blickwinkel der Politik, der Bildungswissenschaften und der Literatur beleuchtet.
