The German Technical Committee on Medicinal, Aromatic and Perfumery Plants (DFA), together with the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna, presents the VIIth Conference on Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Research under the motto Innovation
along the commodity chain.
The increasing complexity of the diff erent areas of expertise with contributions to the improvement of medicinal and aromatic plants by cultivation, breeding, post-harvest treatment, pharmaceutical processing, active pharmaceutical ingredient
research up to product innovations leads to a central role of the transfer of knowledge and technology from basic and applied research to diff erent areas of production. The conference off ers a much appreciated forum for an interdisciplinaryscientific communication appealing to many European neighbouring states. According to the conference motto it will be demonstrated how research can be integrated into the commodity chain to guarantee an optimization of production processes as complete as possible.
