The mobility system is subject to profound changes due to the growing volume of mobility, digitalisation and, in particular, climate protection. Based on the BIBB-IAB qualifications and occupation projections, we estimate the consequences of a regime change in transport for the economy and the labour market in Germany up to the year 2040 using a scenario analysis. We draw a mobility scenario that depicts a transformation of the mobility system towards a decarbonised, environmentally friendly, efficient, affordable and sustainable mobility system in Germany. As a result, the assumptions made have positive effects on gross domestic product and labour supply and demand throughout the entire projection period.
