Der religionspädagogische Wandel des Bildes des Kindes in Schweizer Kinderbibeln in der zweiten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts
Gottfried Adam, Stefan Mario Huber, Rainer Lachmann, Martin Rothgangel
Research on historical children’s bibles is still marginalized in academic research on religious education media. This is also true of the Swiss context. This volume examines three pertinent Swiss children’s bibles from the second half of the 18th century: the Children’s Catechism Bible, or Holy Church and Bible History by Abraham Kyburz; “Biblical Tales for Young People”, edited by Johann Jakob Hess, and “Sixty Bible Stories from the Old and New Testament” by Johann Rudolf Schellenberg. The key questions for analysis are: on what idea of children are the children’s bibles discussed here based? What commonalities and differences are there in the educational concepts of children and childhood? The book also discusses didactical considerations in the three books under discussion.
