Der perfekte Mord
Die deutsche Justiz und die NS-Vergangenheit
Ralph Giordano, Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger
We know very little of how German ministeries dealt with their Nazi past after 1945. The documentation »Die Rosenburg« reveals the fateful continuities and cover-ups in the German Federal Ministry of Justice. The publicist Ralph Giordano, influential author of the book »The Second Guilt and the Burden of Being German« (»Die zweite Schuld oder von der Last, Deutscher zu sein«), is more suited than anyone else to comment on this clarification of the German history of justice. His speech »The perfect murder« (»Der perfekte Mord«) is an alarming indictment that denounces the perfection of the NS justice of terror, but above all the perfection with which the German Federal judiciary denied and suppressed its historical guilt, and even how perfectly the West German judicial system was still shaped by the demonic Nazi spectre of perpetrators and accessories.
